About Us

Welcome to our little corner of Oʻahu's North Shore. We're a small, family-run, completely off-grid glamping stay created for those looking to slow down, unplug, and reconnect with nature. Our property is home to eight unique stays—three tiny cabins, three cozy canvas tents, and two mountain-facing dome tents—each offering a peaceful escape surrounded by birdsong, starry skies, and the sounds of nature. Our journey began in mid-2024 with a simple idea: create an affordable place where people could experience camping on Oʻahu's North Shore without giving up all the comforts of home. When we first opened, we had just one tiny cabin, three campervan parking sites, and three canvas tents sitting on pallets directly on the ground. Looking back, it wasn't our best idea, but every challenge taught us something new. As we learned from our guests and our own experiences, we built raised platforms for the tents, creating a much more comfortable and enjoyable stay. As the property evolved, we were fortunate to rescue two more tiny cabins from Mālaekahana Campground just up the road while they were renovating. We loaded the cabins onto trailers, brought them to our property, and gave them a second life. They originally had bunk beds that slept four guests, but we redesigned the interiors by converting the bunks into shelving and storage, making the spaces more functional and comfortable. We also added two mountain-view dome tents and retired our campervan sites, allowing us to focus on creating the best glamping experience possible. Our canvas tents now sit on raised platforms, offering a cozy camping experience with a few extra comforts, while our dome tents face the Koʻolau Mountains, where you'll wake up to beautiful sunrises shining on the mountain right from your bed. Operating completely off-grid hasn't always been easy. Every system on the property—from water to power—has been something we've had to learn to build, maintain, and improve along the way. There have been plenty of hiccups, and our biggest challenge has been our solar power system. Getting replacement batteries and equipment to an island in the middle of the Pacific isn't always simple, but every obstacle has helped us learn and improve. We're constantly working to make our systems more reliable while keeping the experience as sustainable as possible. Our goal has always been to create a place where guests can truly experience nature while still enjoying a few simple amenities that make camping comfortable. We're always learning, growing, and finding ways to improve both the property and the guest experience. We genuinely appreciate every suggestion and piece of feedback we receive—after all, the more ideas, the better. No visit would be complete without meeting our unofficial hostess, Patches. Patches is a friendly calico cat who wandered onto the property one day and decided this was home. She's known for greeting guests, soaking up attention, and happily hanging out if you invite her in. Many guests tell us she becomes one of the highlights of their stay. Our journey hasn't always been easy. During the Kona low storm in March 2026, our property experienced severe flooding in the middle of the night. Water quickly covered the grounds, and guests found themselves climbing onto cabin roofs, the bathhouse, and even their vehicles to stay safe. Thankfully, our mom woke around 2:00 a.m., noticed the rising water, and immediately woke our dad. Together, they went out into the floodwaters to gather every guest and bring them safely back to their home. Twenty-three guests spent the rest of the night together there, showering, borrowing clothes, and waiting for daylight. By morning, the floodwaters had receded, leaving behind thick mud and extensive damage. Tents had floated across the property, vehicles had shifted, and nearly everything needed to be repaired or replaced. The months that followed were spent cleaning, rebuilding, and improving our cabins, tents, and off-grid systems. While it was one of the hardest experiences we've faced, it also became a blessing in disguise. It gave us the opportunity to rebuild stronger, improve our systems, and make the property even better than before. Today, we're grateful to welcome guests once again and continue improving our little retreat—always at an island-time pace. We keep things simple here. Check-in and check-out are completely self-service, giving you the freedom to settle in at your own pace. Our cleaning team is made up of neighbors and family friends who are on-site daily between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., but otherwise we like to give guests their space so they can truly relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. More than anything, we hope your stay is a chance to slow down. Wake up to birds singing, spend the day exploring nearby beaches and hiking trails, watch the stars come out at night, and maybe even make a new friend or two around the bonfire. We've been lucky enough to host guests from all over the world, each bringing their own stories and experiences, and we love being a small part of their Hawaiʻi adventure. Mahalo for supporting our family's dream and our little off-grid retreat. We hope you'll come stay with us, reconnect with nature, and create memories you'll carry home long after your trip is over.
